I wonder how those models are constructed. I would assume they are built with a much lower stiffness than they should be to see what the flutter modes look like. I knew the 747 had a resonant mode that makes the rear of the cabin shake back and forth like that. One of my ME profs told us how you could look from he front to the rear and see it if you out your head against the overhead bins so that your head stayed still. He figured that is why everyone in the back of he plane falls asleep. IIRC he said it has a couple second period so it is like being rocked to sleep.
